Can I get a repeat prescription online?
An online GP can assess whether continuing a medicine is appropriate. This is a consultation, rather than an automatic prescription renewal. Your GP needs enough information about your health, medicines and any monitoring before deciding what is safe.
A prescription is not guaranteed. You may need tests, information from your regular GP or an in-person examination.
What should I have ready?
- The medicine name, dose and how you take it.
- Your current medicine list, allergies and any recent changes.
- Relevant test results or monitoring information, if available.
- Your regular GP and preferred pharmacy details.
Your GP will explain whether they can prescribe and how an approved prescription will be arranged.
Can controlled medicines be prescribed?
Instacare does not prescribe controlled medicines through this online service. Please speak with your usual prescriber about ongoing care and monitoring. Read our prescription policy before booking.
How do I book, and what does it cost?
Choose an available 15-minute video or phone consultation. You must be physically in New Zealand. Your consultation fee is shown before payment; see fees, including GST. Pharmacy, medicine, test and any in-person care costs may be separate.
If you are running short of a medicine, contact your usual practice or pharmacist promptly for advice. Instacare is not an emergency or instant prescription service.
